St Cuthberts came out on top of this clash between the only two unbeaten sides in The NWML Division One.
Brook got away to a flying start and had the Wigan outfit pinned on their own line direct from the kick off. The visitors gained possession and Skipper Craig Lyon forced his way for the opener in the 2nd minute with Aron Hewitt converting.
Brook increased their lead minutes later Lewis Gartland launched a high kick which the Wiganers were unable to deal with Cammy Tunstall collected the loose and threw a long pass to Jordan McManus who crossed for an unconverted try in the corner.
St Cuthberts lifted their game and drew level with tries from Lewis Charnock and Michael Coleman with Simon Meehan adding a conversion.
The visitors were again hampered by injuries losing Craig Lyon and Ben Legge
mid-way through the half.
The home side were being held at bay with some courageous defensive work from Jack Wilson Lee Dyas and Cammy Tunstall and against the run of play it was Brook who regained the lead on 28 minutes. Brook surged forward following a penalty and it was Cammy Tunstall who powered his way under the posts with Aaron Hewitt converting.
The home side hit back 5 minutes later with a converted try by Adam Hunt.
Just as looked the sides would go in level at Half Time Barry Gregson broke away and sent Michael Coleman over for his second try Meehan again adding the extras.
Meehan added a penalty in the opening moments of the 2nd half and tries followed from Jordan Penny and Coleman who completed his hat-trick.
Brook were up against it and to their credit found away back into the game despite loosing play maker Lewis Gartland as the injuries piled up. Jack Wilson forced his was over close to the posts for a well taken try converted by Hewitt and Bobby Williams was desperately unlucky not to add a further try when a superb cross field kick just drifted away from his hands with the line at his mercy.
It was the home side however that sealed the game with a late converted breakaway try from Daniel Fairhurst.
Cammy Tunstall was selected as The Heatrek Man of the Match with Lee Dyas taking The Tisdalls Players Man of the Match.
