Brook pulled off arguably their best win of the Season coming back from a poor start to beat
St Annes in 80 degrees of heat in Oldham.
The Home side capitalised on a Brook error from the Kick Off allowing Greg Worrall to go over for an unconverted try in the corner.
Brook almost levelled the score however Andy Lee was held up on the try line and from the play the ball St Annes intercepted and raced away to set up an attacking position.
Craig Basnett crossed between the posts leaving Max Flanagan with an easy conversion to give them home side a 10 point lead.
Midway through the first half Brook got themselves on the scoreboard a Lewis Gartland kick forced a repeat set allowing his side to put pressure on the Oldham try line and slick handling opened a gap for Aaron Hewitt who crossed in the corner and The Brook marksman added a
superb conversion.
On 25 minutes Oldham extended their lead when Greg Worrall crossed for his second try of the Afternoon.
Brook recovered from the set back and with youngsters Liam Jackson and Reece Jackson prominent and hard work in defence they sensed a way back into the game.
Five minutes before the interval following good work from Cammy Tunstall and
Jordan McManus it was veteran Mark Webster who was on the end of a great offload from Ant Walker to score by the posts with Aaron Hewitt again converting.
Defences were on top during the opening 20 minutes of the second half Brook came close to scoring when Reece Jackson was held up but with the visitors taking control of the game it was only a matter of time before the gaps appeared in the sweltering conditions.
On the hour mark a charging run from Lewis Martin set up the position for Brook to take the lead a long ball went out to Aaron Hewitt who cut inside the defence to score under the posts leaving himself with a easy conversion and Brook had the lead for the first time.
Brook had the momentum and five minutes later Bobby Williams broke clear he produced a delicate offload to Jordan Darwen who raced clear to score with Hewitt again converting.
With 5 minutes remaining Brook extended their lead when Youngster Iwan Marsh took Ant Walkers offload to score under the posts. Aaron Hewitt converted to extended Brooks lead to
To 30 points to 14 and it seemed there was no way back for St Annes.
The home side to their credit had other ideas and hit back with two tries in final minutes
Rhys Wareing and Russel Crawdon both crossed with Max Flanagan converting both it left Brook with a nervy last couple of minutes but they played it out to claim the two points.
Jordan Darwin who was menace to home side all Afternoon claimed both The Heatrek Man of the Match and the Tisdalls Players Man of the Match ahead of Cammy Tunstall.
