Brook bowed out of The Ladbrokes Challenge Cup with a crushing defeat at Whitehaven.
The visitors had to make 6 changes from the team that won at Nottingham a week earlier and it was always going to be an uphill task against a Kells side that haven’t lost a home game in 6 Seasons.
A seventh minute try from International Centre Scott Lofthouse opened the scoring and this was soon added to by Daniel Joyce and converted by Dominic Wear with the first of his 8 goals in the match.
Brook hit back mid way through the half when Jamie McCabe burrowed his way over following good work from Danny Fairhurst and Stephen Parkinson who also added the goal.
Troy Armstrong Scott Lofthouse and Tyrone Dalton all added tries for the home side before the interval.
Gutsy defence from Brook restricted Kells just one try from Troy Armstrong in the first half an hour of the second half however as Brook understandably tired the home side scored three unanswered tries from Lofthouse and Armstrong who completed their hat tricks and Dominic Wear.
Brooks coaching staff had nothing but praise for their depleted side that put in a superb effort and never took a backward step throughout.
Callum Welsby was selected as The Tisdalls Man of the Match with Jamie McCabe picking up the NW Maintenance Solutions Players Man of the Match with Brad Ramejkis and Dave Scott in contention.
