Brook returned to Conference League action with a seven try victory at Wakefield. The win saw the Boardmans Lane outfit leapfrog their opponents into a playoff spot in The Kingstone Press Conference League Division 2.
The visitors almost opened the scoring in the 2nd minute when Deon Cross broke clear from deep inside his own half it took a brilliant chase and tackle in the corner from Hooker Charlie Ledger to prevent the try.
Minutes later Brook did take the lead after Scott Lyon and Craig Dubois both went close it was Danny Fairhurst and Jimmy Brown that combined to send a long pass out to Stephen Parkinson who scored in corner and added a touchline conversion for good measure.
Midway through the half Brook increased their lead following a penalty the visitors had good field position to set up a move Lyon Fairhurst and Brown were all involved again before Deon Cross strolled over to score an unconverted try.
Brook were back on the attack and following great play down the right hand channel Winger Scott Lyon crossed for a try in the corner.
Blackbrook had their tales up and another score looked likely however Rangers Winger Jon Dickinson intercepted he was chased down by Deon Cross however following a quick play the ball Second Row man Knyston scored with Abson converting.
Two minutes before the interval Brook regained their 14 point advantage when on the last tackle of their set Jimmy Brown put a kick into the corner the ball landed awkwardly for Stephen Parkinson who managed to trap the ball and fell kindly to the hands of Brad Ramejkis who scored his first try for the club.
Right on the half time whistle Brook were in again Deon Cross was in the thick of the action again this time his superbly timed pass sent Jack Parker over at the corner Stephen Parkinson converted both of the late tries.
Veteran Sean Richardson extended Brooks lead as forced his way from close range early in the second half with Parkinson again converting.
Two converted tries mid way the half from the home side brought the scores closer but Richardson muscled his way over from close range again with 10 minutes left on the clock to extinguish and hopes of an unlikely comeback.
Parkinson added his fifth conversion of the afternoon.
There was time for a late consolation try for the home as Centre Joel Marsh scored in the corner.
Deon Cross was selected as The NW Maintenance Solutions Man of the Match with Stephen Marsh taking Tisdalls Players Man of the Match.
