Brook consolidated their second spot in the league table with a superb win over third place Underbank Rangers in Holmfirth.
The visitors withstood a mountain of early pressure as Underbank pressed for the opening score. The visitors held out until the tenth minute when after a succession of penalties Sam Rochford spotted a crack in the defence to go over with Richard Pogson converting.
Minutes later Brook suffered a blow when Skipper Greg Hale was taken off with a serious looking knee injury.
Stephen Parkinson pulled two points back for his side with a penalty goal as Underbank where caught interfering at the ruck area. It was always going to a close game with a promotion spot up for grabs.
Brook took the game by the scruff of the neck with four tries in a magical spell either side of half time.
With only seven minutes of the half remaining Jordy Welsby found Stephen Parkinson with room on the left he broke and skilfully chipped the ball over the cover defence collected and raced under the posts for a superb try which he also converted.
Within minutes Brook were in again Danny Fairhurst launched a huge down field kick which was collected by the Underbank defenders however Fairhurst led the Brook chasers who instantly tackled the Wingman. The ball was spilled under the pressure and Aaron Hewitt pounced on the loose ball to score with Parkinson adding the extras.
Brook found time for one more try before the interval Jordy Welsby launched a huge 40/20 to give his side an attacking scrum ten metres from the try line.
Danny Fairhurst and Dave Scott worked a well rehearsed move from the scrum for Scott to dive over gleefully for his third try in consecutive games.
Brook increased their lead in the opening minute of the second period. Brook kicked off and immediately forced an error giving them possession close to the try line. Ste Marsh who was back in Brooks colours for the first time this Season and Mark Webster took play close to the line before a superb offload from Neil Babbs found Callum Welsby who bundled his way over from close range with Parkinson again converting.
Underbank was never going to give this one up so easily and the comeback was soon on. Ten minutes later Matt Adam took advantage of a great offload to score by the posts with Pogson converting.
As the pressure piled on Aaron Hewitt saved the day with a superb chase and tackle as Underbank broke clear down the left. The home side piled the pressure on Brooks defence and mid way through the half reduced the arrears to six points Nick Briggs added his sides third try with Pogson again converting.
Brook thought the game was in the bag when Tommy Cunningham crossed in the corner only for the score to be ruled out for a mystery obstruction in the build up.
The visitors defence worked overtime as a succession of penalties heaped the pressure on however led by veteran Sean Richardson it was magnificent and Underbank could not find a war through.
With only six minutes left on the clock it was Sean Richardson that eased the pressure with a well executed drop goal to leave his side two scores in front.
